front or rear? depending on the depth of the speakers, you may need to trim the plastic basket.

rear should be fine. front would have the depth issues.

If not, will they fit on the door speakers?

I'm familiar with this part.

The 6.5's I put into the front doors of my hatchback didn't fit the basket.

I cut out the basket leaving just the mounting ring and even then I had to do a little trick of creating hooks to hook into the mounting ring. Nylon nuts to hold the hooks all in place.

I also used Permatex Ultra Grey to glue the speaker to the mounting ring. Speakers fit perfectly and the rattle is from my 20 year old crappy door panel, not the speaker.

I find more uses for my dremel over every other power tool I have.

In the future I'll use Permatex the right stuff (flange sealant) as it doesn't harden and will act as a rubberized flexible glue. Or maybe a flexible specification body sealer.

Yeah, thought about that and worried about longevity. Always see the stuff deteriorate around the house. Would think it would deteriorate faster with all the environment changes outside with warm/cold, humid/dry in the car.

The flange sealant lasts for years (oil pump anyone?) of the harshest conditions.

pure silicon lasts a VERY long time. normal acrylic/latex/silicon caulk does not.

95% of aftermarket speakers aren't going to fit with the plastic bucket so expect to cut that out.

Okay thanks. But do you know what would be the correct size for the door speakers?

6.5" but small magnet.

Most after markets have better sound, the reason is usually bigger magnet.

These fit nicely without any modding in my '97 EX coupe. May be different for sedan though.

These are inexpensive and solid rear 6x9's :
