93 accord distributor replacement
hey guys
Newer to hondas so could use some help.
I am swapping an engine in a 93 accord on a friends car. the scrap yard replacement engine came with no distributor in it so i switched over from the old one. right now the engine has been turned over , the plug wires arent set and the marks arent lined up. can someone walk me through the process of getting the distributor set up with the timing and that general process. i have done this on older small block chevs but this is a little foreign to me. thanks a lot!

The 93 distributor has an external coil - make sure you've got a distributor for a 93 model.
The end of the distributor has a "key" that has teeth. The teeth are NOT in the center of the circle, they're offset slightly. If you are installing the dizzy and it's not going in as smoothly as you'd like, don't force it, just pull it back out, turn the rotor in the dizzy 180 degrees and reattempt the install.
If you're looking for a diagram for wiring, try google-searching or looking in a service manual.
If you look on the distributor cap, you'll see near one post, there will be a mark - something like an "A" or "1" or something - that should be your no. 1 cylinder.
