Default Oil pan gasket or just RTV

Hi guys,

I am going to put on a remanufactured engine and I want the best reliability. A few options for oil pan gasket.

1. Oil pan gasket only
2. Oil pan gasket and apply rtv on both sides
3. RTV only

What is your opinion? I think option 1 will work..

This is what I did and haven't had any leaks with the car sitting in the garage for a few weeks. It hasn't really ran though. I know it had a RTV only seal before and did not leak.

Any reason you wouldn't want to follow the FSM?
