Default How to check the block

I have a 1995 Accord with a blown head gasket, can anyone tell me if I have to check the block for warping as well as the cylinder head?

Is there a way the block can be checked without taking the whole engine out of the car?

Thanks - rev

Yes you should check for warping on both when you have a head gasket failure.

All you will need is a machinists (precision) straight edge that is long enough to cross the length of the deck and head surfaces. Along with a set of feeler gauges to measure any low spots that might be there.
