Inspect before you buy.
Also, ensure to read the rules and FAQs before posting. This forum is an awesome place for information, but wrench time should come before keyboard time.

 

Check for CEL codes and warning lights in cluster.

Check for oil leaks.

Replace engine oil and transmission fluid.

Do a full ignition system tune up.

Replace water pump, tensioner, and timing belt if there is no record of this work being done.

 

taillight gaskets.

 

depending on the mileage, I would consult the owners manual if you can find it on google. It tells you what to expect at what mileage. Buying a car? I'm sure any mechanic shop can do a 42-point inspection check.
