GSR head swap.
Hi everyone.
I have some questions on doing a GSR head swap on a 2000 B20Z2 CR-v EX.
I have a new B20z2 I am rebuilding that will be stock everything but GSR head and intake. I have a new P72-A005 ecu OBD2b from a 2000 GSR just like the car. I am trying to test that the ECU is good before I start the swap of the new motor and I cant get the car to start on the stock GSR ecu. I am not getting any spark with the GSR ecu in it. I got a second OBD2b GSR ecu from a friend and it is doing the same thing. Is there anything that is different in the CRV then a GSR? I would thing just swapping a stock P72 ECU into a CRV it would at least start or get spark.
Some side notes I have added in the wires for vtec to bypass the presser switch so i don't get any cel codes when I install the GSR ecu. I have tested with a sparkplug in cylinder 1 and dont get any spark with either GSR ECU in but works fine with stock B20Z2 ECU.
Any help or pointing me in a direction to eaad up one would be great.

What dizzy do you have? Is it a working distributor?
I think caoboy might be right. Im almost sure the type r has immobilizer and i think gsr has it too. Get a chipped p28 and see what happens then. Although it may be cheaper to run a si p2t ecu just to see if itll start as p2tdont have immobilizer built in.

Caoboy you are correct. Pulled the immobilizer chip out of the ECU and changed the fuel pump from A16 to A15 and it started right up. Thanks for the help I would have never got it as everything I play with is chipped OBD1.
