new to cars need help!!!!!
I have a 97 Honda accord SE. I am trying to fix her up a bit, obviously since she is older I need to do the maintenance type of stuff first before adding extra stuff. It is at 134000 miles. what should be done first maintenance wise(springs , struts, ect). like i said im new to this so i want to learn a bit. thank you in advance.
The first thing I'd want to know is when was the timing belt was last changed? Now the first job you want to go DIY but is something you need to know.
Then fluid changes, oil and trans fluid. Might as well bleed the brakes when you inspect them. Also while doing that you can inspect the inner, outer tie rods, ball joints, sway bar end links and the sway bar bushings.
For the PS fluid, I would just pull and empty the PS res. There is a screen at the bottom you should clean with brake cleaner. Then re-fill with Honda/Acura approved fluid.
Next, if not sure go ahead and set a base line and do the tune up stuff - cap, rotor, plugs and inspect/replace the wires.

Thank you, ill be checking all this stuff out in the next few days. After i am done with all the basics, i want to start enhancing the performance. any advice for the 97 Honda Accord Special edition.
"What do I want this car to do for me? What are my goals with this car?"
I would sell the 'Special Edition' if you want to modify the car.
They usually have two catalyst with a unique exhaust system and are all automatics.
If your modifications are not going to involve power/drive-train, then have at it.
