Default is it better to...

run w/o the stock air box cover? I have a k&n ru-2820 filter and it feels like the throttle response is alot better w/ it off... but then it gets exposed to the heat of the engine... thanks...

btw, w/ it on, it was all stock piping w/ resonator...

you basically negate the "CAI" effect the stock intake has and make it short ram by taking off the air box cover.

Stock Air Box

My ITR loves it way more than filter on a stick setup. I can feel the low end power loss with "hot air intake".

i would say that it is more responsive.
now it's the j's debate of whether you think the response is worth the hp loss
