on the starter there is a thin wire with a spade connector, this is the signal wire, in theory I believe you should be able to jump a wire from the positive on the battery and have it start, if the starter is good or you could get a volt meter and test the wire and see if you get voltage when the key is turned,
there is a harness in the steering colum that can have issues it connects to the back of the key cylinder and to the fuse box, if they ever had an alarm this was probably hacked into

but, if you run that wire (that plugs into the starter solenoid/the smaller cylinder in the starter/) to the battery, she starts?
my 97 had a similar sickness.
if I've got this straight, there's probably a problem somewhere down the line with that wire. the fix I did was run a new wire. from the solonoid, to a switch in the dash, to the hot side of the battery, eh
*or
the super correct fix I think would be following your solonoid wire through the harness to hopefully find something stupid
I think I said that right. hit me up if I can help more.
now to start my civic, I turn the key for gas, then hit the "switch" that I installed for igni

OP
A. plastic piece of **** starter switch on the clutch pedal
B. starter cut relay
C. If this car had an alarm you'll need to rewire the ignition
