a friend of mine has a 91 civic si and he doesn't have any rear speakers.. not even factory speaker mounts that i can see. Did any 91 civics come with rear speakers? are there mounts out there? if not, what have u guys used instead? i was thinking if there weren't any factory type mounts out there maybe someone makes small enclosed speakers? anyone know anything about this?

(ps... i am going to post a pic of his car from last march.. it was snowy out and he slide off the road and put the car on its side! funny as hell! heheh... )

you can get the rear speaker mounts at a junkyard or look around...

they do exist the were an option from the factory expect to pay between 5-20bux

 

i've got them. they came with my 91 si

It was an optional accesory. Ive seen them on Ebay for 60 bucks. My friend has had 3 91 SIs. only one of them came with the rear speakers.

$60 good lord i hope thant came with the speakers too thats a grip for the mounts

 

does anyone know what size screws for the rear brackets?

i bought mounts from the dealer about a year ago for like $35.

 

I have the stock rear speakers, if anybody wants those. I'd sell em for like $20.

 

Well I finally saw a set of these. I've been peeking in the back of civics for months! I was wondering what was done about the seat belt - I guess it just lays on top of the speaker grill.
Has anyone put speakers at seat level in the rear? I know on the driver's side the gas tank hose is in the way up high, but down next to the seat, a 6.5" might fit.

Oh yeah, I saw the kit for pretty cheap brand new on -hondapartsonline- but they didn't have a picture.

I didn't have any speaker mounts either, so I put 4 6X9's in the rear parcel tray. I ran the wiring under the carpet and then put black and red coloured plugs, so I can unplug the speakers to remove the tray. I covered the rear tray in thin black material so the new speakers cannot be seen, and the sound is amazing! Many people think I've got a sub back there, but it's just some 6X9's. It tough cutting through the tray, as some of it is just thin particle board, but the edges have steel lining, so make sure you have a good jig-saw with good blades. Good luck with the project..

 

i have 2 sets im my garage i would sell them to you but i dont know if they are worth me packaging them up and sending them to you...

 

some dx's and the si's had them i dont think it would be hard to fine a set at the junk yard if you really wanted some the speaker is a 5 1/2 i think i duno i dont use mine there arent even any under the covers i just keep them in there so there isnt the empty tray there
