Skunk2 Pro-S II Coilovers
I have a 98 Honda Civic HX
Suspension has never been touched. I currently have 15" aftermarket rims if that matters The turbo kit is going on this week shooting for anywhere from 300-400 HP
Suspension is kinda one of my week points Never been into rims, Camber or dropping my car. This will be purely for performance
Starting to think stock suspension wouldn't be good for me, I wouldn't mind getting something with adjustable Height just to make safety checks easier, looking for something with a "soft" feel as this is a street car
Been browsing this forum for a couple weeks but haven seen info on this particular set seems like u guys are partial to koni which is fine by me brand really doesn't matter
but anyway what do you guys think about this:
Pro-S II Coilovers - Skunk2 Racing
Im pricing these out at about $700 or is there something better? again trying to keep this simple as possible not too experienced with suspension I have done it before tho. I had tocico blues that I installed on my del sol a few years ago.
also Im thinking I will need a camber kit looking at the skunk2 system for that aswell

Update found a post that says the skunk2 is trash. Looking at the Koni GC unit. waiting on Th motors to reply to my message they dont have prices posted its by Pm only i Guess.
Budget is 700- 1000 , or 1500 if its needed. just looking for something that would be good for putting down power and has a great ride, dont care about going super low.

Oh God. The grammar and spelling in this thread is rough. Koni/GC is a great setup. If you just want an upgrade to stock with adjustable ride height, I'd go with Progress CSII coilovers. The Progress coilovers are a great budget setup. They even made their way into the sticky. So check them out.

Skunk2's aren't the worst you can buy. But I would never use them on my car. For so many reasons.
Koni/GC isn't bad. They work well at relatively high ride heights. The closer to stock the better. People will disagree...but if you consider the fact that I am right and they are wrong, you'll agree with me.
Bilstein HD's or B8's and ground controls will ride better than Koni yellows and ground controls. But they are not damping adjustable. B8's can go lower than B6/HD's.
A big winner in terms of versatility, quality, and price would be Tein's Street Flex. Tein's been pretty on point with their new street lineup.

Best ride possible, regardless of height...get the Teins since they are matched springs and dampers and they have full body adjustment. You don't lose damper stroke as you lower the car.

it's really hard to go wrong with Koni/gc. It's a very versatile setup.
Personally, I just got my AMR's installed and I couldn't be happier. those are about double what your looking at though. haha

Do i need a camber kit or should I skip it?

I would not lower the car more than 2" with koni yellows. If you're fine with that ride height, and you actually NEED versatility, they are unbeatable for the price.
With 300-400HP, a camber kit to return the camber angle back to 0 degrees (or close) may not be a bad idea.

at that ride height, I personally wouldn't worry too much about the camber.
Although with 96-00's they do have a steeper camber curve in the rear than others. I did the washer trick on mine and got all 4 -2.0/-2.1. However I am a good bit lower than 2''.

EDIT: how are you guys measuring camber?
Sorry im a self proclaimed suspension Noob!

Firestone here has no problem lifetime-aligning my S2000 that I have my own-spec alignment on...or other cars that are fairly normal. I've been pretty happy with their results so far. They said they were glad when I walked in with a printed spec sheet of my own. Usually, places will be apprehensive to that.
