95 honda civic intermittent spark
Hey guys, so my buddys 95 Honda civic ex 1.6L is throwing us through a loop. The thing just all of a sudden wouldn't start one morning. Cranks but doesn't fire, so I figured it was a distributor problem so we put a new dizzy on it and the thing fired up for about 3-5 seconds and died. I checked for spark after and it had intermittent spark? I decided to check all grounds and there was a few that had gotten corroded so I put all new grounds cleaned em up and still nothing. I put a new main relay in it and a spare ecu I had and I swapped it out just for ***** and giggles and it started fine ran great for 20 mins and now were back to square one, it just cranks. so if you have any info that would be appreciated.
Check for reliable spark again, listen for whether the fuel pump reliably primes, and post the CEL codes.
How old are the plug wires and spark plugs? Is the distributor new?
Which specific grounds did you clean, tighten or replace?

I'f you think its ignition based, I'd start with checking the cap and rotor contacts for corrosion (clean/replace as needed), then measure plug wire resistances (should be able to find that spec somewhere), then a new set of plugs.
I tend to go from cheapest thing that could fix a problem to most expensive.
That said, it could be a bunch of other things, so maybe more diagnostics is in order.
