Default coolant leak under intake manifold

So I just finished installing my new d16a6 head on the hatch, I started it a couple days ago for a few seconds without coolant to make sure the timing was exact, but today as I was filling it up with coolant (with-out the car on) I noticed coolant was dripping of my exhaust flange. When I looked closer, the leak was coming from under the intake manifold, could it be my waterpump?

What? Your motor geography doesn't make any sense. If your water pump is leaking how would it leak from your intake manifold and down onto the exhaust? If the leak is that bad from just filling the coolant without the car on I bet it'll be really easy to find. Get a flashlight or takes pictures can't help with something so generic.

Sounds like you need a new intake manifold gasket. There is a small port where coolant runs through that can leak, it happened to me with 2 new aftermarket gaskets before a new oem gasket cured it.

Could be the coolant pipe on back that is leaking too. The thermostat housing side does have an o-ring on it.

Also I would recommend pressure testing the system before just tearing it apart.

Yea, rent a pressure tester and you can find it easy. Might just be a loose clamp
