D15B vs D16Y7
Howdy,
I have one each 1990 civic dx which came with a d15b from the factory.
Ive been kicking around the turbo idea for a little bit now and may have run across something of interest.
I found a 1996 hatch back with a turbo. The engine is a D16Y7 so im thinking i could buy it and just swap into my 1990 dx.
Is there any reason I cant just swap the entire turbo set up into my non ricer hatch back?
Im sure there are numerous threads about this

To answer your question: No.
With that said; don't buy a 'ricer' '96 hatch with a turbo, it will be a garbage setup that is untuned and likely to blow up. The Y7 is also known for having poor oiling, even more so when it comes to a turbo set up. Also, your car didn't come with a D15B.

My y7 ran out of oil on the highway, ran for 10 miles on mo oil. Put more oil in and its good to go.. That happened 2 years ago and its still running. Loved that thing!
