Can't figure out what head this is?
My head is a p2j-6 95. Anybody know what this is ????? It's a 2000 ex and the manifold doesn't fit to the block right which causes a bad leak! A stock vtec head is p2j-3, I'm lost on this one.
I refer you to this thread HERE.
It should give you all the info you need. But from the codes i see (which none of the are a direct match).. I would hazard a guess of 1996 D16Y8 5sp.
Also, are you sure that its a "6" and not a "5" ? sometimes the castings arent too clean. A picture would help.

The flange should be the same regardless of what -# the head is. Can you clarify what about the intake manifold isn't lining up?
Yes please clarify. Per your description I'm imagining the intake ports are grossly offset and I don't think that's the situation. Can you post a picture?

I know it's still a D16 but it's not the original head on it. It's a oem manifold. But it doesn't have the same ports as the manifold so it just sucks air. Which is causing my rough idles and the iacv code.
So the ports on the head are offset so much that it goes past the gasket and it is completely open to the engine bay?
Please post a picture or describe it in detail.

It's a Y8 head. That isn't really up for debate. Your manifold, on the other hand, might be, which is why I asked you if you're using an OEM, or an aftermarket manifold, and exactly where it isn't lining up. If you want solutions, you're going to have to give us answers.
I'm assuming perhaps you're using a 99-00 Y8 intake manifold with the air assist? You'll need to block off the air assist or just use a 96-98 Y8 manifold. You have to match the intake manifold gasket with the manifold year as well not the head year, so 96-98 or 99-00.

^Now it all makes sense. I wish the OP had just said that there are MORE/EXTRA ports on the manifold but seeing it now I can understand what the OP was trying to say.
