Innovative Universal Radiator Mounts for traction bar
Using their innovative traction bar on my 91 crx, and its time to switch over to a half rad.
anybody using their universal radiator mounts they offer? they look like a square clamp with a screw to tighten up. just curious how well they hold up and who else is using them

that was 1 of my concerns with innovatives mounts. square clamp on a round bar -.- looking at the K tuned picture you posted leaves me with the same impression though. i feel like they both dont stay in place and would slide unless welded. Do the K tuned work for the innovative bar also? not sure between the 2 bars if they are the same thickness
Haven't measured the bar but K-tuned does show which size bar they work on. You could always get them tack welded in place.
Edit: 1.5" OD

Applications: To be used with K-Tuned or ETD Racing Traction bars, Also fits competitors Traction Bars with a 1.5' OD main bar
Pro-Series Rad Brackets Includes additional billet aluminum brackets
Standard Rad Brackets Does not include the billet aluminum brackets
Here is another useful part from K-Tuned. In the past, alot of people ruined the coating on their traction bars by welding on custom tabs to mount the radiator on the bar in their car. We have done the work for you and finally you can easily and cleanly mount most radiators on your traction bar. These Stainless Steel brackets are perfect for rad swaps and rad relocation for K-swaps. These even work with our competitors bars as long as they are using a 1.5” OD (outside diameter) main bar. Don’t forget to be sure there is enough clearance for the U-bolt to wrap around the bar. Mounting a radiator really doesn’t get any easier.

ye i looked at the website and saw the 1.5` od but innovative doenst list their dimensions. gonna have to go outside and measure later today
The innovative bar is 1.5". I was looking for those hook things with nuts at the hardware store and they don't carry 1.5". I'd just tac weld tabs on the bar. Those little pieces are expensive and will probably still rotate unless you secure them more.

trying to avoid welding to the bar but i might. innovative and k tuned are both like 50 bucks for a pair -.- pricey for something so simple. i plan on just ordering 1 or the other and if it spins on more then 1 occasion then im gonna weld that bitch in place.
*innovative has horrible customer service as of lately so most likely gonna try k tuned..

If I had to use the bracket pictured above or one like it, I'd cut an inch thick piece of radiator hose, slit it, and use it between the traction bar and bracket/clamp.
any reasoning behind that..? pretty sure it will still rotate from vibrations/bumps regardless if metal to metal or metal to rubber. or maybe im just thinking too hard and they actually do work lol. kind of the last thing im worried about but ever since i saw the brackets im intrigued
Metal to rubber is less likely to rotate than metal on metal. It acts as a gasket and the surface area of contact is greater since the brackets are unlikely to match your bar.
i fail to see how that is useful. engine mounts are bolted with no chance of movement. same thing with rubber exhaust hangers. they will not rotate when slid on and weight applied -.-
if you were to put either the innovative or k tuned mount, you can physically rotate it 360 around the traction bar. and then you apply the weight of a radiator filled with coolant, and its naturally bound to slide the entire mount down.
The purpose of using rubber with the mount on the inside would be to limit the metal to metal contact in hopes of less movement from bumps/pot holes etc. not to limit vibrations..
the only common sense here is to weld the mount directly to the traction bar, and any " vibrations " will be limited by the rubber o ring where the radiator tabs slide in to
