I have been able to take a great deal of weight out of my ef. The next step will be to cut out the spare tire well and re tin over the hole. Thoughts on cutting the well before it is caged? Also tips to remove the sound deading on the outside of the car... Thanks Guys

If you have any of that stuff, throw it out. That stuff definitely adds weight.

why cut the well if you are already way below weight? I'd just leave it alone and make panels to help the air flow around the well instead.
You currently have the freedom to move a lot of weight around to where you want it so I would just do that.

Why mess with the factory seat?

Buy a used kirkey or bend your own from aluminum, weld 4 bolts to the floor and hard mount the seat . . .

 

To answer your question, cut the spare tire well first then build the cage around it. As for the tar, easiest would be towing it into a sandblast shop or dip the car. If you're on a budget then an air scraper and wire wheel on a grinder will be your friends.

 

Sadly i am in ca so acid dipping is beyond the realm of possibility. We are barely allowed to have hot salt water to strip things down. Thanks for the input on the well

 

Will have a summit plastic seat. Seat frame was from an old seat we had laying around as a joke lol

 

yo you cut down weight with a lexan window, you make one fairly easily, go to hme depot and look for lexan wit a reasonable thicknes sheets are usaully 300 bucks

For the tar, lots of dry ice and a hammer breaks it up real quick

 

I dont have a rotisserie so its too hard to dry ice the bottom lol
