I replaced inner and outter tierods, upper camber arms non adjustable, lower ball joints, the lower control arm bushings that connect to the sway bar, cv axles a front wheel bearing and rear wheel bearings/ hubs also new rotors and pads upfront.

I got an allignment and wheel balancing today, i noticed all but one wheel had weights on them.

The shop i had the allignment and wheel balancing at said my front wheels were worn on the inside which they are but proeeded to try and balance them. They said it would help but would not eliminate the shaking in the wheel.

When i got home i decided to rotate the tires and theres still a shake in the steering wheel if not worse and it now pulls to the left.

The tires i put on the front now have no inner or outter tire wear.

im kind of upset because i thought i would have a smooth ride but its still bad. Not as bad as before i did the replacements but disappointing. Need advice!

If i get two new tires up front with balanceing will the shaking go away? I also have a humming or woo woo woo woo woo woo sound while driving. Like a bad wheel bearing but i replaced the bad ones.

 

Take it back to the alignment shop. They fucked up somewhere - you shouldn't have shaking in the wheel after a fresh alignment and balance, and it sure as hell shouldn't be pulling. Did they give you a before/after sheet? If they did, take a picture of it and post it. If they didn't...what kind of **** shop did you go to?

As for the wear, can you take a picture of the tires, preferably from a flat angle so that we can see the top of the tire? The humming could be caused by certain types of tire wear.

 

Take close up pictures of your tire tread. I'm willing to bet that they're cupped. Tread pattern will look like the attached picture. This is caused by the tires being out of balance for a long period of time, bad alignment, worn suspension. The woo woo sound will never go away due to the uneven tread surface. It's like those big mud tires you see on trucks that are very loud, with huge uneven tread.

The cupping may be severe enough that they can't get it to balance perfectly anymore. The only true solution is to replace the tires, and rotate+balance them regularly (every 5-7,000 miles)

 

Yes my tires are like that in the picture above^^ the wear isnt that bad on the inside but it is noticable.

One outter tierod and bearing on the same side was bad with noticable play when jacked up and moving with hands. Other side was solid but both front end tires have same amount of wear.


I got my tire balance and allignment at les shwab so they should be reputable.

^ camber kit i do not agree with. There is a thread on here that states lowering your vehicle will not cause premature wear though it will throw your camber out toe will wear tires faster than camber.

Plus its just easier to knock allignment off with adjustable camber.

I would rather bring my car to regular height since i have adjustable coilovers. Which i have already thought about doing.

Im beginning to believe that i should just get 2 new tires with a ballance. And that should stop my shaking?

It looks like it is soo camberd out damm the other three are not that bad. What is the stock ride height for 94 civic ex?

 

I think its whoever lowered the car. They didnt bring the adjustments close to each other. Judging by the rear at -2.3 and -1.3 your ride height is like one side higher than the other, and the sheet shows its all around. I would readjust the coilovers and bring the height closer to eachother on all 4 corners.

EDIT: It looks like they made your rear left worse, before -2.2 and after -2.3. What kind of shop did you go to?

 

I went to les schwab. Nothing is adjustable but toe and the coil overs/ struts everything else is oem on front and rear. I just want it back to standard height. But i cant find a definite answer to that question

 

thats because you havent said what suspension you have. your idea is bad anyways, you'll have the sacrificed ride quality of coliovers, and stock ride height. junkyard some used oem stuff.

 

koni yellow and ground control suspension. I still have my stock springs though!

 

those go for GOOD money used.

because I just went and looked at my stock springs and the dip#### who had the car before me cut them so I have to hit pick n pull and find some with the spring seats. and just use the yellow struts.

 

koni/gc combo. stock struts are worth maybe 20 a pop. usually, yards sell struts and springs complete for one price.

 

Yea i know i bought koni/gc all new was really expensive. They do sell them for about 40 each 19 for shock 21 for spring. I would rather utilize my shovks and use stock springs. Would anyone know about how many coils are on stock springs? The ones i have have 11 in front and 9 on rear shouldnt be as low as i am now but just curious

 

You can't use your shocks with stock springs.

You don't have the coil 'cups' to hold them in.

You'll need to buy new shocks/springs, or just lift the coils to factory height.

Raise the car up if it is too low. Just turn the sleeves upward. Koni and GC is a decent setup...so keep it.

Start fresh with a new set of tires after that. Get it aligned after the tires are put on. As long as your toe is correct, camber really shouldn't wear the tires unless its -3 degrees or more.

Are the bushings on this car OK? Or are they torn/busted? Replace those before buying tires.

Your car hums because the tires are probably cupped a bit from a bad toe angle.

 

I do have spring seats, would you happen to know the factory height?

 

Are you talking about the collars that the GC springs sit on?

 

no lol actual spring seats, not adjustable. but if I find the stock ride height I can just adjust my GC. or use my spring seats and stock springs and not adjust anything. but I need to know how many coils are on stock springs because mine look like they were cut.
