Default S300 losing memory

Hello Honda-tech,

I am building a car for af riend of mine, we are having an issue with the s300 going into what I assume is limp mode every time or almost every time the engine is shut off. The car is tuned and made pretty good power for a stock b16. I have to download the tune from the ecu and reload it to the ecu to get the car to run correctly. Just looking for any insight on this issue. Thank you for you time.

If it's a v1, its dead. The battery is no good and as far as I can tell it is not replaceable.

It doesn't have a battery on V3:

I would contact Hondata about this one directly, but definitely let us know what's going on when you find out if you would.

Yes for the v1 but v3 no longer use a battery. Like onebadturbo said, contact Hondata and report back.

You can fix the s300 v1. I contacted hondata when mine failed and they told me to buy the new version and since mine was broke they only offered me a new one with a small discount. Which was nice of them but I figured i would try to fix it first since they said it was trash. I was able to repair it and have been using it for the last 6 months with no issue. Way cheaper then buying the v3. Ecu is just in my beater and i didnt want to spend the money on the v3 since i have a v3 and v2 ecu in the racecars etc.

Alright guys I have an update. We haven had a problem since hondatas latest firmware update. Also we are now using a new laptop, the old one we were using is about 7 years old. Now some research was found that if you unplugg your laptop without ejecting it or have the newer USB port it will do this. Hope this may help future Honda enthusiast's.
