B18c5. Oil line and can from b20v
I had a b20v in the 98 gsr and now swapped a b18c5 in. Should I still use a catch can. And what about the oil line tapped in the head to oil pressure switch. Any of it needed. It's not installed last 3 weeks. new motor now.
The oil line is for hybrid conversions like LS/vtec setups and B20/Vtec setups. The ITR is a true OEM B series Vtec engine so no you dont need it.
I swear i seen like 3 of the same post on diffrent forums..
Lol yes you might of seen a few. I just know from looking at sites that ls/b20v needs a catch can to vent the oil vapores when in alot of negative pressure. But I couldn't find anything from b20v to b18c5. And my head gasket was leaking a lil bit on the b20 and now very little on my new b18c5. But I bought it already built and was told arp studs head and main and cp low compression pistons eagle rods new gaskets everywhere and can see whole thing been to the machine shop. So now I'm guessing they didn't tourqe the head studs properly. Thanks for the info.
Oh and I guess the oil tap in the head is just cuz the b20b block has no oil passages to the vtec head like any vtec block would normally have ?? Thanks

no keep the ITR with its own black box and PCV valve system. You dont need a catch can for a stock engine.
