AC stops working
99 Accord LX: Recently I noticed the AC will stop working at seemingly random times. The blower still works but only blows hot air. Sometimes when I press the AC button it will turn on but other times it will not. I am not highly knowledgeable on the specific interworkings of cars but I am a big fan of DIY troubleshooting. I suspect a wiring issue may be to blame but I wish to throw it out to the interwebs for some advise before I go tearing up my mode of transportation and potentially making the issue worse.
My guess the issue is either:
1)Wiring
2)Fuse(?)
3)Low Freon(?)
How would I go about confirming my suspicions... or am I just completely going down the wrong track?

I hate to throw parts at an issue without testing so please follow any testing procedures needed.
However, many of the 6th gen Accords with "manual" HVAC controls had/have issues with the PCB in the controls. When the ac stops, do all other controls work - mode selection, ect.
