Radiator leak?
Yesterday in class we had my car(92 integra) on the lift when I noticed it was dripping antifreeze coolant. Later on in the day when I came back to my car in the parking lot there was a small puddle of coolant under the front end. Today I took the radiator out to inspect it but it "looked" fine. It's to dark to check now but suspect it still going to leak. Is there anything I can do? Maybe something to help me identify where the leak is? I want to avoid replacing it as I've had a hard time trying to find a new one for an automatic. I'm staying away from any radiator "stop leak" fluids as from reviews I've read it does more harm then good. Thanks for any feedback.
The most common places for these things to leak is the crimp-seam between the core and the tanks. Pull the rad again and look for any area of the seam that appears "washed", or cleaner than the surrounding area.
What can also happen is when folks use worm-drive clamps on the bottom of the lower rad hose, and then are not careful to make sure the screw part doesn't contact the crossmember once the rad is installed. This puts load on the hose stub, and therefore on that part of the seam, and eventually it leaks.
