Anyone done the rear bumper cut on their 90-93 integra?
Anyone done the rear bumper cut on their 90-93 integra?
People been using the speed holes/"diffuser holes" or whatever, but I've been wanting to just go ahead and cut the rear bumper in half.
Could I see photos of other member's of DA/DB that has done the same before I do it?
Thanks guys!
Oh, and no this isn't for looks/show or whatever people do when cars meet up and stuff. I really want to see how much time I can reduce by trying this.

Yes, I have, on my dedicated track car, and it's ugly. The spare tire well dips down so low that the change in aerodynamics is negligible. Note how I did this on a used old junkyard bumper just for testing.
Also worth mentioning... painted tires on non-sponsored track car :D

It's supposed to reduce aerodynamic drag. On a lot of cars, the rear bumper can act like a parachute. Holes in the rear bumper can reduce that, in turn maximizing top speed. On these cars, probably not very helpful. I'd imagine 1-3 MPH at the top, depending on the weather and other things.
Alternatively, a real rear diffuser performs a bunch of magic and can help your car stick to the ground better, but I'm not getting into science here.

yeah, still have to work on the front. Just toying around right now. That car isn't street driven, so I'd recommend not messing with that on a street car. Towed to and from road courses.
That car is probably getting close to the 2000 lb mark with a full custom weld in cage. Still need to ditch quite a bit. Would rather put ballast down low than have weight up high, or at the business ends of the car. But again, I digress; science!
