i just dropped a b18a1 unto my 93 si it came out of a 92 hatch i have spark and fuel but wont start, every now and then it stumbles a little like its close but no cigar. im using the stock p28 ecu cuz i was told it would work. this is my first dohc ive only had sohc turbo setups prior to this im trying to get it running before i swap an itr head on it. was wondering if there are differences in firing order or something along those lines, i tried to search through the threads with no success. any help would be greatly appreciated thanx in advance

 

Firing order is the same. Have you verified that your mechanical timing is correct?

 

i didnt but it was running in his hatch he pulled it out and i picked it up

Play with ignition timing via the distributor? And I'm going to guess previously it was running on the correct ECU?

 

You're using the wrong ECU. Get the correct ECU, and work from there. Whoever told you a VTEC ECU would work properly for a non-VTEC engine is a ******* idiot.
