'94 Accord Power Steering Pulley Wobbles
Just noticed a slight wobble of the pulley yesterday. The nut on the shaft does not wobble though. No leaks or unusual noise, 362K miles. This morning on cold startup, the pulley didn't wobble. When i got to work it was there. Has anyone dealt with this before? Bearing going out?
i cant remember how mine happened, but it now wobbles pretty bad... i never track my car and we were at the drag strip so i ran it and after one run the belt snapped, pulley was wobbling horrbily... i have a belt on it now and it still wobbles, wears the belt out some on the edges... but it works fine... my car only has 131k on it, 94 accord, so it didnt happen over time i think it got bent either doing the auto to manual swap or something else im not sure but yeah
It's likely when it heats up the metal expands and it warps. It's possible it just needs to be tightened down, but if the shaft is bent somehow you would be best done grabbing another a junkyard and picking up a rebuild kit for about $20 from a parts store, taking it apart and replacing the orings and be good to go.
Keep in mind the pulley bolt is reverse threaded.
