Pretty sure that's not the correct badge number. They didn't go past 15xx

I'm curious - did you actually see an ITR in person with that number engraved on the armrest badge?

I'm wondering if possibly the car has a salvage title and the seller is trying to hide the fact some items were once missing (such as that badge)...

So it's a clean title I've called Acura they confirmed the vin that it is a type r. The original badge number is missing but had a replacement with no number on the arm rest. So what would be the proper way to find the number for it?

PM Doespike on here. He is the VIN/badge number expert. All ITR's have DC231 in their VIN's so that's how Acura would have confirmed it's authenticity.

Dc231 doesn't mean type r , gsr's also start dc231, the bin can't designate type r, only if it's a vtec model

Op if look through the various type r registrys good chance it's listed in one or best bet is doespike

Welcome to h-t from a longgg time member. Lots of very good information here, if you're a diy'er then you're in the right place, I've been helped out countless times over the years with various cars, and it helps me keep the inspiration going seeing how many like minded Honda guys there are out there.

Nice car but why not learn to enjoy the car as it is, and for what Honda meant to to be? Unless you were planning on ordering oem parts that were taken off along the way.

Yes jdm oem parts. I want the 16 in type r gunmetal wheels and the black recaro seats. Then just have to replace some window molding and some small stuff like that. And I want to raise it up maybe a inch or so.
