Like the topic, I've got a 92 civic VX, have the possibility of picking up a 94 gsr brake swap, front and back. Wanted to see if the brake unit will fit under my VX rims? 13in.... feel like i'm cutting it close, wanted to see what people thought.

 

i think 14" is min.

 

Look at it this way. On my 2000 EX, I have 14" steelies that barely get over the calipers. The VX are 13" that WILL NOT fit my car (my brother has them). GSR brakes are bigger than mine so ... in conclusion, NO!

 

blech, which means i'd have to upgrade rims before i do the brake swap, or find the money to do both at once.....sigh

 

why don't you just upgrade to EH3 rear discs and get some better pads and rebuild your calipers with some better rotors. This should be plenty of stopping power for now unless you plan on doing some high speed touring or something of the like.

 

hey Dave, for the right price I'd be willing to sell you RJ's old rims(the slips). Just make me a decent offer.

Hum, anyone know about SI rear brakes under VX rims? I might have a set i can buy.

 

14 is supposedly the smallest that will go in the front.

 

No they won't. I had to sell mine and get some rotas for this brake swap.

 

13" wheels will fit over front GSR brakes/calipers ONLY with the use of spacers to set the wheel out farther away from the caliper.

you can buy spacers from H&R.

the roadrace/autocross forum had a thread on this a while ago... top level national GSR racers use 13x8" rims! WOWSAAAAH!

 

okie, it the event that we think the si calipers will fit it, should i go for a rear SI disk swap for 300? which has "prop valve and master cylinder, ebrake cables, new pads and rotors were recently turned" sound like a good idea? Then get a set of spacers for just my rear and go for an upgrade later on the front?

 

i paid 250 shipped for gsr rear disc conv i can prob get more at like 300-350 im me
