Default possible bent LCA or more?

alright guys... few weeks ago i was driving in the rain missed judged a turn , and hit a storm drain curb, my rota SS, bumper, and fender took the blow. the rim was cracked and a pretty big peice of it missing.

Today i finally got around to checking it out and it looks as if the passanger side wheel is pushed 2-3 inches back

Cant get a picture just yet, but here's an idea..

Anyway, do you think I just bent my LCA? How expensive/ hard is the fix if it is the LCA.. and is it drivable? Thanks guys.

lower cont. arm L. part#51365-sh3-020 $148.91
lower cont. arm R. part#51355-SH3-020 $148.91

usually that is all that needs to be replaced, be sure to get an alignment after install

no, you never mentioned what side you hit, so I just put both numbers down
L.=drivers side
R.=passenger side

My car is the same way. This is the only picture I could find of the front passenger side wheel. I changed the lower control arm and it still sits back 2 inches. I fell asleep at the wheel and smacked a curb

It takes a pretty hard hit to break a rim and move it back 2-3 inches. I wouldn't be surprised if there is more bent than the lower arm. The knuckle and beam are probably screwed too.

The control arms are pretty solid pieces, it's the frame bars which support them which I think would go first

ok i did this in a previous car.

the things i bent were the Lower Control Arm, The stabilizer Bar, and the Subframe. You may have bent the subframe depending on how hard you hit the curb. Those 3 things cost me about 400 bucks and a weekend to do. If you go to a shop to get those done expect to pay 2 grand rouglhy. hope this helps out some

it also could be the rear beam, sometimes when hitting a curb it will bend the beam that will cause the wheel to sit back a little bit
it can either be bent back into place or just replaced
w/p.s. part#50200-sh9-a00 $428.40
w/o p.s. part#50200-sh0-a01 $428.40
either way you can't just do it at home it will need an alignment

DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE!
only smoke and drive

struts are bend very easily so that might be somthing else to look into. if you can put your car up on a lift, measure points on the suspension to a hole that is in the body of the car. then measure the same spot on the other side and compare measurements.

Ouch

On the other hand. I have everything from the rear suspension if you need it. LCA's trailing arms, and suspension. I just did a rear disc swap, and have mine sitting around.

Also, now is a good time to do the disc swap eh?

I have those too.

You need to get it up in the air and look at everything. I would tend toward the upper control arm cause the lower seems like it would break rather than bend. Or the mounting point where the lca bolts to the frame could be bent. Really you should go to a shop and see if they will give you a print out of the underbody frame dimensions and you should check it out with a tape measure. Its not perfect but you will get an idea of where things are wrong.

actually, all 4 wheels went over the curb.. bald rear tires = bad

got new rim for 600$ CDN.. . kinda expensive, but not many people want to sell 1 rim

have yet to replace broken/bent parts, ie. lca,torsion bar, fork, etc.

it's winter here.

well, damn, you guys have been damn helpeful.. i think i should have explained me accident a lil more, my rim broke.. rota SS.. but i never went up onto the curb, the curb was really really high, becausae it was a storm drain ( also reinforced with steel) so that made impact a lil harder... but i just hit the curb, never went up on it... ive put about 300 miles on it since the accident.. alignment seems messed up.. and probs some other stupid stuff. does this help at all?
