Default 4-1 or 4-2-1

since my engine is a b16, i am thinking about getting a 4-2-1 header so that i can start to make up for the lost tourque. Is this a wise choice?

4-2-1 is the better header choice, if you want the best spend the loot and get a Toda.

4-1 = power at high rpms, 4-2-1 power at midrange rpms.

4-1 is better for top end, but any decent 4-2-1 will give a 4-1 a run for it's money. It has a low bling factor, but you can't go wrong with DC 4-1. Not only that, but Dynamic Autosports has done some dyno tests and have shown no adverse effects on torque numbers with a 4-1 versus a 4-2-1.

When was the last time you saw a 10 sec Honda running a 4-2-1? They use the 4-1 shouldn't that tell you something.

B16 gets its power in the higher rpm range so go with the 4-1. When you run the quarter, you only pass through the lower rpm's once. Then you shift from about 9 to 6 k where the 4-2-1 won't do good. I guess if you never floor it and just go from stoplight to stoplight, get the 4-2-1. If you want drag race or be fast in the power range of the b16, get the 4-1.

he never said that he was going to drag with it did he........

4-2-1
the B16 has absolutly no torque.....get the 4-2-1 and give your engine a little more midrange power to get you up to speed

over stock, on my old B16A, my old DC 4-1 (USDM collector) made more horsepower EVERYWHERE on the dyno! More mid-range and more TOP end!

But, if I were to do it again, I'd save up and get the DC 4-1 w/JDM 2.5" collector!

......IMHO it's not worth getting a header unless it has a 2.5" collector.

I'd go 4-2-1 with a B16

4-1 with a B18

IMO
