How's it going? I have a 2003 v6 6speed accord. Issue is at idle the power steering hardly works or at times doesn't work at all, but If you raise the Rpms the slightest bit "100 Rpms" power steering works perfect. Driving the car no issue that I notice.

Changed the pump
Changed the pressure switch

From what I understand is that the car does not have a IACV because it's drive by wire, is there something else that bumps up the idle when the power steering calls for it? Also turning on the ac at idle does not increase the idle rpm

Ok, since you asked again.

What is the idle rpm once the car is at normal op temp in park and in drive? In drive with your foot on the brake and you turn on the ac does what does the idle do.

A good cleaning of the TB never hurts - get both sides and the edges of the butterfly.

 

I realized I posted the first thread in the wrong section.

Idle at normal temp is 750-800, car is manual trans and in neutral if you turn on the ac the idle remains the same unsure if this changes when the car is in gear I will check tomorrow. I will also clean the throttle plate as you suggested maybe some build up on the edges

My bad, assumed it was an auto trans

Being that with the ac on it doesn't go down the PCM is sensing and adjusting for the load.

Is the steering issue something that came about over time or was it something that just started happening one day?
