Default B20B wiring in a non-honda copnversion

Hi folks
Well first post...
I'm currently putting a b20b from a 99 CRV into the back of a 1979 VW bay window bus to replace the wheezer of an aircooled lump that came out.

I've had a flywheel and adapter made so it physically fits and I still have the complete CRV here.

A taste of what I'm doing. The block here is a scrap one I got to use as a template.

Question is can anyone shed some light on the wiring side of things? I would like to keep the standard CRV setup if possible.
I've no desire for more performance and keeping the emissions stuff is no problem really although I'd rather loose the cat. The bus is a 1979 so there are no emissions regs at all for it over here.

How much of the loom is needed? Any pointers on the wiring?

I also need to ditch the giraffe inlet for a lower type, I assume the later B20Z one bolts directly to the head? Does the throttle body and fuel rail transfer across too or will I need B20Z ones.
LS engines are not very common over here so using parts from one of those would be more difficult.

The easiest for you is going obd1 with a chipped p28 ecu. As you have a 99, that shall be obd2. Search here on how to wire from obd2 to obd1, or find an obd1 distributor and wire harness. It should be very simple if you pay attention...

P.S.
What is the "giraffe"?

Thanks, I'll have a read about that.

The giraffe manifold is the high level intake fitted to the earlier b20 engines. Later ones had a low level manifold with a torque resonator box on top of it. Height is an issue so I'm just curious if the later b20z manifold will fit on the b20b head.

It will fit, and you can go with a custom manifold if needed, then tune with a good tunner and should have no problems. These OBD1 are very easy to setup and tune.

Rather than need to tune it I'd hoped to get it running with its standard management.
I understand switching to odb1 makes it easier to swap it into another honda but keeping the same connectors isn't really an issue for me.

The best way is to tune it. Ex. if use custom or modified intake manifold, header (what definitely will) or any other you will need to tune to make it run well and idle smooth. That is the reason.
