Default 92 LX 5 speed project

Hey, picked up a 92 LX 5 speed as a project car. Money is not an issue however I don't have a garage, looking for more than bolt-ons but would prefer to avoid an engine swap D15B7 specific comments would be appreciated. Thanks

google "d15beast7" that motor is the cheapest way to add power to a b7 without a turbo. the connecting rods in that engine suck, but can handle mild boost with a very conservative tune. look to a t25/14b turbo at 8psi or below for it, with basic items (head gasket, arp head studs, rod bolts) to toughen it up a bit. PS- be aware that MANY, MANY, MANY members here have zero respect for d series engines, ESPECIALLY b7's. tomcat and myself are probably the only ones here that don't automatically consider b7's throw away engines.

also- if you plan to keep the horribly geared b7 transmission (read: don't) disregard any option other than turbo. just swapping to a z6/y8 trans and doing nothing else will help more than any motor work will without the change. since adding power means replacing your worn out, likely parts store clutch, you'll need to drop the trans out anyways. SWAP IT.

its cheap compared to throwing brand name cam, intake manifold, header, valves and springs, etc etc. i know machine work can get expensive, but comparatively speaking, it is a cheap option.
