1991 Accord Hood release cable broke ??????????
Well,disaster has struck
the cable broke some time ago,and was just getting by using the cable end looped . I could still get to it behind the license plate and just give the loop end a yank to open it. I tried to open the hood today,to give a quick of the fluids and the rest of the cable broke from the hood release.
: I said some things that luckily,I was alone and in my Garage as they were not good
so anybody got a quick answer to this dilemma ??. I do have access,to a torch and serious HD air cutting tools etc at work if need be to get it open. I use this car as just a work vehicle,so I'm not real fussy about appearance though I do not want cut a hole in the hood but could.
How do I get to the hood release to open the hood with no cable left to pull ?? Thank's in advance if you somehow know the answer to this dilemma

Well if you really don't care about looks.....straight thru the grille. Hacksaw or body cutter will make short work of the plastic.
Get a flash light and thru there you should be able to see where the cable attaches to the latch......plan the attach from there.

I do have a 93 Accord Coupe with a bad motor that grudgingly can be a donor car I guess .I had plan's for it,but the grill can be sacrificed.
I have spotted another Accord 4 dr in next town over that appears to be dead with nice wheels,so I may have more parts soon.
I do have a Sawzall/Saber saw and that will make short order of the Grill . Thank's for the idea

If memory serves me - good luck with that. The cable "loops" around the top and connects to the latch on the pass side.....use the 93 parts car as a guide of where and how to get at it.
The pic I have of it.......a "long" pair of needle nose might reach the cable where it is held on the latch to the "pivot".....but that depends on where it broke.
