After many days of searching there seems to be no DIY for the 04-05 guys and gals seeking to do their headlighst black. I didnt plan to make a DIY but a couple people asked so here it is. My apologies in advance for not having enough pictures. Here it goes though:

Tools needed: 10mm socket
Ratchet
Approx 12" of extensions
Flat head screwdriver
Phillips head screwdriver
Oven
Silicone
Headlights

Start by removing headlights from car. It'll be 3 bolts and a clip. (No pictures of this)
Then remove all rubber gaskets from exterior of headlight & bottom bracket.
Set temperature on oven for 270*F


Leave headlights in oven for approximately 7-10 minutes.



After waiting pull headlights onto a soft surface and pry up on all tabs going around headlight and pry the two assemblies apart. You should be left with this







Now, remove screw holding housing into lenses.

Now gently remove the corner reflector or tape it off , you choose. (No pictures sorry)

Next sand all chrome around housing with 600 grit sandpaper. The roughness from the sanding helps bond the paint to the slick chrome.

Next clean up the sand dust and apply 3-4 coats of paint.

Wait for paint to dry and put the housing back into the lenses. You should now have this.


Apply silicone around the entire edge of the lenses and rear cover of headlight.

Put in oven again for 7-10 minutes @ 270*F

Hold headlights together shut for atleast 3 minutes. Clean up excess silicone.

Reinstall headlights.

You should now have this.
