Default Flashing engine light

I own a 2006 Honda pilot sometimes the engine light comes on but then it will go back off but today it was different i started my car and started driving the engine light then began to flash at me I have ran the codes before and It was something to do with the misfiring all plugs and wires have been recently replaced so I'm not sure what else it could me thanks for your help

I'd look at the ignition coil on the misfiring cylinder. Swap I with another cylinder and see if the misfire follows the coil. If it does, bad coil.

It can take up to 2 weeks to turn back on also it was 3 misfiring cylinders

So only misfiring faults stored right? Only specific cylinders?
Did the misfiring start after you filled up with gas by chance?
Any recent repair work done that could be related?
Bad gas will usually be a constant condition.
Ignition coils can be intermittent.
Honda injectors are usually pretty reliable.

Mods, feel free to move this to the correct subforum. Probably get more help there since this isn't really the place for this post.


If you verify what cylinders are misfiring, you can swap coils as a test.

Now that I think of it normally does start right after a fill up and yes it is specific cylinders but they change everything it throws a code

no fault codes for the evaporative system?
if not, try the coil swap test..
