1st feels like 3rd
So I have 96 civic cx with a d16y7 whenever I'm in first gear it feels very rough to start off. It feels like I'm in 3rd gear and when I'm in 3rd gear it moves a bit quicker. I just put in a new "used" tranny and a brand new clutch before I installed those the car was operating the same as it is now. Anyone have any idea what it can be. Also it sounds like my exhaust is clogged up it sounds like a tractor

Also, check your mounts. Specifically, your two front torque mounts and one rear torque mount. After you've checked those, check your driver side engine mount. Out of curiosity, is this your first standard transmission car?
