You will feel the second order vibration that the balance shafts cancel out.
The flat crank balances no problem, but the vibrations from the rotational inertia does not always cancel itself out. With a flat crank four banger the upward moving piston pairs have more inertia than the downward moving piston pair, thus you have a non mechanical imbalance known as 'second order'. This vibration is proportional to the square of the imbalance, IIRC. The faster the engine spins the more vibration you will feel.

Biggest issue is the engine will vibrate a lot more and this will be induced into the chassis. At peak HP you might save 2-4 HP, and lose the 'complexity' of the balance shaft/belt system. But you are going to start having a rattle can.

IMO, only remove it if this is for a budget drag car that needs every ounce/HP you can scavenge. Otherwise those induced vibrations can become annoying at best or fatiquing for longer periods.

You think 2500rpm cruise drone from a resonator-less exhaust is annoying...

I'm going on 20K with my F23A1 running no balance shaft belt. Vibrations barely increased, I already had mount inserts. Much stronger at the top end.
