89 Civic si steering wheel removal
I am replacing the steering wheel on my 89 civic and need some help taking the original off. I saw some guys only have to remove the H from the steering wheel but this one is different then the CRX. Has anyone out there come across this replacement?
It is quite easy. Take the H emblem out from the middle of the steering wheel with a small flat head screw driver. Then get a 19 mm Socket with an extension and remove the nut holding the steering wheel in place. It may take some muscle to remove the nut, but it shouldn't be too hard to remove. Once the nut is out, pull the steering wheel out towards you to remove completely.
I have removed stock steering wheels out of CRX's, Hatchbacks, sedans and wagons, 88-91, and they all come out the same way.

I will try that, i didnt think it was the same because the H on my steering wheel does not seem the same as the CRX, it looks like a simple emblem on it.

One little piece of advice someone gave me. Loosen the nut several turns but don't remove it. Then you can pull as hard as you need to on the steering wheel and it won't hit you in the face. Then when the steering wheel comes loose remove the nut.
