94 civic fuel issue
Stock d16z6 fuel pump will prime but will not stay running replaced the pump a few days ago car ran fine all weekend now will prime start and die if I keep the key in the cranking position it will run until released to run any ideas?
Sounds like the capacitors in the ECU that control the fuel pump priming circuit are starting to fail. Time, heat and humidity will cause a intermittent fuel pump priming failure until they eventually totally fail. Borrow a known good ECU and swap it out. These ECUs are now over 20 years old. Common problem.
Junkyard about $125.
You could check the main relay solder joints and the ground connection at the thermostat housing but my guess is ECU.

this does not sound like an ecu issue, given as it stays running with the key turned. id lean toward checking your key tumbler/ignition switch.

I haven't had time to mess with it since but yesterday it started up ran fine but after stopping and starting a few time while playing with the key it started acting up again.
Any suggested write ups on replacing it?
There should be a diagram in the FAQs sticky for testing the ignition switch.
You should be able to buy the electrical part of the ignition switch on eBay. In the past, I've seen it for about $50.
