good day guys,




my civic sits with both tires in front sticking out so the inside sidewall rubs on the road and making tires wear out faster. could this be a UCA problem? what suspension part do I have to look out for that needs to be replace. Thanks

 

Alignment first. People will always say it's toe that causes uneven wear so make sure it's all straight. Then if you feel the need adjust camber.

For the record I say it's both, I'm not one to blame tire wear solely on incorrect toe.

 

X2 but OP didn't say how low he is. So he could be lowered 4in and that's when camber becomes a problem. But anything other than that a good alignment will correct it.

Go get an alignment, they'll show camber, toe, etc. but if you have fucky bushings, or dead LBJ/UBJ's, that alignment wont matter for anything within six months.

I'd quote the picture too but I'm too lazy to recapture it with alignment circled. To answer your question it's controlled by how the inner and outer tie rods are attached. There doesn't necessarily have to be something broken for this to result in worn tires but adjustments are typically done via an alignment service performed at a shop. I will say its possible to do this at home but accuracy may not be as good as it will be when having it done by a shop equipped to perform this service.
