Default 93 cx eg part list for a jdm 1998+ ITR trans

I been reading quite a bit about my first car. A 93' eg hatch with a mini-me and the transmission is failing. Instead of swapping out for another full d or b series, I really got seduced into a h2b build. Mod, move this thread if it's in the wrong spot. I know there are numerous sites but I can't find the key information that I need. I found a jdm importer with a fair price of a euro r h22a motor along with a jdm ITR 1998 spec transmission. The price tag was $2900 for both. I was originally going to go for a jdm gsr trans but wanted what every other h2b can't have. What parts are interchangeable with the jdm ITR trans and the usdm gsr or ITR? Not internally but in terms of axle, shift linkage, nuts, bolts and anything else that may or may not be interchangeable. I'm not going K. I would rather buy a rsx, thank you.

Yes, same clutch, same T/O bearing, same style flywheel (ITR is lighter), same shift rods, same "T" bracket bolts, same torque mount and bolts. As for axles, the inner joints and midshaft are the same... JDM ITR axles have larger 36mm outer splines so those axles will not work in your 93 civic unless you get a JDM ITR front brake upgrade (5-lug).

Essentially, as stated above... externally, the parts are interchangeable. It is the stuff on the INSIDE that differs dramatically.

1. So the 5 lug upgrade is must?
2. What about the suspension system with the wish bone and the knuckles, hubs and wheel bearing or anything in that category. Can I use any gsr parts? Can I use any usdm itr parts?

Sounds like an extra grand to me..

Mods, please remove the "for sale" post above from the rude troll who tried to thread jack the OP... he hasn't even followed the site rules and posted a pic for heaven's sake... and then ban him for doing this to MULTIPLE threads !!!

OP, no you do NOT have to use the big brakes... you would use ANY USDM '94-01 "B" series axles combination ('94-01 Integra, '94-97 Del Sol DOHC VTEC, '99-00 Civic Si) and they will work just fine with the JDM ITR 98 Spec trans and your EK Civic front hubs.

What about the 36mm difference opposing the 32mm axle?

Larger outer spline... stronger overall. Overkill for an all-motor H22A swap. I have an EJ coupe with a H22A swap in it making 244 wheel HP N/A... 32mm splined axles work just fine. The car runs mid 12's launching on slicks... all good.

So you're saying that I can use the 32 mm axles for the transmission?

b series parts are all the same. There is no need for the bigger 5 lug. You can even bolt on type r brakes and keep the stock hubs. 4 lug seems more popular anyway because there are a lot of wheel choices in 15". Basically consider that the eg and integra chassis are identical. Parts that fit on one will fit on the other. All the b transmissions bolt up the same.

For the h2b gsr or itr transmissions are both good. Both have pros and cons. People say gsr is perfect for drag racing. For tracks the itr trans is probably geared a little better. Plus the itr comes with LSD. Even though it revs out on the highway, I still vote itr for street car. The tight gears outweigh crusing at 4000+ rpm. Actually, this keeps cruising to a sensible speed. With the gsr trans its easy to cruise at 100mph and not even notice.
