OBD issues
I have a 93 Honda Civic CX obd 1, I put a d16y7 OBD 2 engine in it. The wires from the Car won't go into the new computer(for the new engine). Having trouble finding the right pigtails. If I am successful at connecting the computer, then I'll have more problems. The old OBD1 setups didn't have a knock sensor, the new computer might have a bunch of sensors my car is not wired for let alone the ECU. I would rather keep it as OBD1. I got an OBD1 computer that is for a D16 vtech. Runs fine, but the engine is nonvtech. So the Check engine light comes on because there is no vtech. Only if I could bypass vtech on my computer, then I could leave it as OBD1 and it won't run like crap. Please help. Thank you! Btw the swap was from a D15b(OBD1) Non vtech to a D16y7 non vtech obd2. The intake setup is all OBD1 and the distributor.
You can run a jumper harness and add whatever you need or see if you can install a chip that runs the stock Y7 maps. Alternatively, you can figure out how to bypass the VTEC circuit (or fake it) and just run the P28 as is.
^^^Yep that's as close as you're going to get to the correct ECU. DO NOT run the OBD2 ECU. You'll be throwing emissions codes for eternity if you do plus you'll have to do some additional wiring.
