I recently installed my skunk2 IM and RDX injectors with Hat into my AEM Fuel Rail. Everything went in pretty smoothly. I did have to trim off little L brackets on the injector for the hats to sit on the injector properly. After everything was installed and buttoned up I turn the key, For the fuel to pressurize to see if there's any leaks without fully starting the car. That's when you can see all for injectors leaking Around the hats.
And I noticed that the fuel rail does not sit all way down on the studs on theintake manifold. So I'm wondering do I need to put washers on the studs so the fuel rail will sit flush ? Can anybody who has done this mod give me an invoice.

 

where are the rubber o-rings?

 

<p>Did you lube the o-rings for the injectors and injector adapters? If not, use some Vaseline or oil.</p><p>Any picture of the intake manifold, fuel rail and injectors installed?</p>

 

<p>I'm gonna have to +1&nbsp;improperly installed o rings as well. &nbsp;Those little ******* are EXTREMELY easy to damage. &nbsp;They're also not incredibly expensive from the dealership, which is good, because they're a weird as **** size that you aren't going to easily find in any hardware or parts store. &nbsp;You shouldn't need to use any Vaseline, but a tiny bit of oil can help them slide easier. &nbsp;Also, make sure you go straight down with the injectors, hats, and rails, otherwise you risk damaging the o ring, and once it's damaged, you need to throw it away and get a new one. &nbsp;Don't try to patch it, or fix it, or &quot;make it work&quot;, just throw it away and get a new one.</p>

 

<p>Oil is from FSM and vaseline was suggested to me by a local injector shop as it has a better flash point then oil.</p>

 

<p>Flash point should be a nonissue - OP shouldn't be using enough for it to actually get into the fuel system, just enough to let the o rings slide in easily. &nbsp;I'm sure Vaseline would work, it's just thicker, and easier to accidentally use too much, and I could imagine that being an issue. &nbsp;A tiny bit of oil does the job, and you can get all you need by just wiping oil off your dipstick with your finger.</p><p>Not trying to say you're wrong, Bently, I just think oil is the better (and safer) bet </p>

 

Either way, its a moot point.

 

Hello, well, yes I lubed the O-rings with oil, and after double checking everything I noticed that when I bolted down the rail to the mani studs it kick the hats of being flush by a tiny bit, after loosening the nuts I notice that there was a 1/8" gap between the mani and rail, so I ran to the auto parts store grab some spacers and installed them, and put everything back together. NOW I HAVE NO LEAKS. But I'm not sure if it will start leaking once I start driving, but I will post better pictures later today...

 

<p>It will be under the same pressure at idle as it will driving. If it isn't leaking now I wouldn't worry about it.&nbsp;</p>

 

RDX injectors are much longuer than "old style" injectors.

They are also thinner, so make sure you don't have air leaks.
