Hello, I drive a 94 accord ex. I put in a new k&n air filter today, just the cone no tubing. I already had a cheap air intake system in so I just left the old tubing in. My problem is that after the new cone filter my Engine stutters when I accelerate after about 3k rpm. It goes but then it stops then it goes etc. So I was wondering if it's because there's to much air going in now, or if anyone could give me any ideas.

 

sounds like a map sensor problem.

It's possible. Maybe the KN filter is flowing more air at that particular RPM that the ecu hasn't adapted it's long term fuel trims yet. I assume everything else is stock since you didn't mention anything else...

If it's adapting still, it should resolve itself after a little bit of driving. You can disconnect the battery and reset them also. Never heard of this problem before with just a filter swap. Let us know what you find! Good luck.
