Icon5 95 Civic Engine Bay Harness HELP!!

First post on this forum I need help with my very first swap. I have everything I need, putting it back together is so freaking confusing!! I plugged up the ecu, installed battery, connected the engine harness to the harness that goes into the firewall (both sides) and nothing is happening. I haven't connected any of the plugs into the engine yet or onto the lights or any of that I just wanted to see if I got some sort of voltage flowing through the car, normally when the key is in the ignition and the driver door is open it will beep, nothing.... and I plugged up the horn just to see if it worked but it didn't.. I NEED HELP FROM SOMEONE WHO KNOWS THIS STUFF!! This is my first time doing a swap and at that I'm doing it ON MY OWN! Thanks

First off, lets get some more information.

What we know, 95 civic chassis. Some other random motor is being put in.

That's about it.

If you could provide the motor you are putting in, any conversion harness you may have used.

I think that's a decent start so people can actually have an idea of what and where you are at so far.

Also just as a blind tip. Without all the ground wires being connected (transmssion, valve cover and any others I have missed) nothing will work as none of the circuits are completed.

Was this car running before you did this swap?

You shouldnt have to plug anything under the fusebox. The engine harness connects to the 3 plugs by the passenger and driver side shock tower and thats a rap.

edit: except for the alternator wire, but other than that nothing else.

This assumes the poster didn't go a little over the top and unplug the fuse box as an extra precaution.

Something a novice like myself would likely do. :p
