Hello all! My civic has almost 167000 miles and I just put fresh Falken tires on it, it rides awesome and I couldn't complain. I just had a few questions about my Honda as I am new to this brand. I have the d17a2 engine. I was wondering how reliable these were with daily drivers? And what are the signs of a bad heater core and how much would it cost for a shop to repair it? I Googled the signs and they all say things different that could be it. Thank you for all your feedback and taking the time to read this!

 

Signs of a bad heater core? Umm, low heat coming from the vents... is about it. The heater core is not the primary problem with the D17, though. It's the cooling system in general: https://honda-tech.com/honda-civic-2...e-etc-2889523/

More like you'll smell antifreeze whenever you turn the heater on & sometime the **** will pour onto your floor board too sometimes.
I replaced a many of them
Shop is gonna charge at least $300 if not more
