Default rebuild timing

Idk if this is the right place to post this but I have a b18c gsr that's getting rebuilt forged block and valve train and turboed by a performance shop near me and I was wondering how long does a build like this take?

depends on the shop! your on there time now! it can take a few weeks or a month or two depending on there schedule and how busy they are. Did they say how long they will take? Once the engine is in the chassis assembled, they will need to fabricate the turbo kit depending on how complete the kit is which is usually never a complete bolt on and go kit. After all the kinks and small things are checked and After that they should be able to break the engine in on the dyno and within a few hours it should be tuned, and ready to drive after the last oil change. But again to many variables to give you a straight answer.

If the engine building it's self is out sourced it's hard to guess, but just over a week range is what we always said for a pistons/rods + ramhorn set up. It's perfectly normal to ask go there on Monday and ask any reputable shop will say.

The shop said it would take 10-12 weeks but it sat for almost a month and now it's been down there for 5 1/2 months and 8k later I really don't see why it would take a certified shop that long the only reason I had a shop do it is cause I wanted it warrantied

This is the problem with shops man! they will rape you on labor!

IMO its been there way to long! id ask for my money and car back!

Is this a Import shop that deals with lots of hondas and turbo charging them ect.. or is this a shop that will take any car and any project just because theres one or two Certified Mech there? Those are usually the shops that have no idea what there getting into nor have expierience in boosting and building a honda engine and will take there dear time figuring out! iv seen it many times. They will say yea we can do it! 6 months later there still wondering were to put the intercooler..

Guys he lives in Alaska.... that's still long but from what I know **** takes forever in Hawaii too. but **** man I would have bought a new f250 and lifted it for the amount of time that's taken. im well aware the cost of a new truck but I cant imagine there's much of anything "Honda" up there.

Dont get down! hopefully they get it done for ya if there good peoples. Its always a learning experience. Maybe by the next time you will build your own engine with research and dedication anythings possible! this site is full of so much knowledge it could take a lifetime to take it all in but never be afraid to learn. We all have been there some way or another!
