Default best motor combination.

Hry guys I drive a civic race car. This car only sees the track and Is an oval race car. I'm looking to build a new motor for next year. (Want more power) I currently hold my track record but not satisfied.
My motor now is a b16a fully built.
Head:
Skunk 2 tuner 3 cams, valve springs, lost motion assembly. Stock valves, port and polish.
Block:
Cp carillow 12.5:1 forged pistons, manley h beam rods, arp bolts, alc race bearing,
Car had 185 hp and 121 ftq. Rev limit at 9400. Car is very fast but I need more power. I dominate my track but other tracks cars with 2.0s and 2.2s pull away. What combo of a motor can I build to get 250 or 260 hp and still be reliable and N/A. Ls vtec? Any help would be great.

I run in a modified divison so it doesn't matter what I do. Are techs dont even know what motor i have now. They thought it was a 2.2l when its only a 1.6 . And budget really doesn't matter. But I also don't want to spend 6k or more to build a motor.

Built up h22+ h2b swap kit = 275+ HP within your 6K budget.
Should be TONS faster than your b16 and make traction a challenge.

I don't want to use a h series. Don't like the fiber reformed cylinders. I do my own motors and I don't like honing those.

In that case, b20Vtec will get you there or very close to it.

Now those b20 bottom end will they be able to handle the rpms. If I built them up. Any recommendations on what head to run and cams or what pistons.

Sure they can handle rpms. There's a few b20v builds posted around here. Also check out the all motor dyno registry to give you an idea what numbers are possible.

I would just use your existing head setup and put it on larger displacement bottom end since you already have all the parts.

What type of oval? Dirt? Asphalt?
What rpm and what gear are you in most of the time?
What type of fuel are you running?

Asphalt..right now with a tire size of 205/50/15 running 9200 rpm in 2nd (2.105) with 4.4 final drive for qualifier. But racing in 3rd (1.652) at 7500 rpm. And if I got a good lead 4th (1.385) but that's low rpms like 5000 not in vtec. Also I run 93 pump gas but can get my hands on turbo blue 110 if needed.

I think a high compression 2 liter bottom end and maybe a 4.7 FD would get you where you want to be. If you want to be even faster than that, start looking into stroker cranks. Also depending on the level or quality of the porting of your head, there may be a better option out there(cnc port maybe?).

The porting was done by hand. I see king motor sports in milwaukee wi. Has a 2.0 liter with 265+hp and 171+tq that they build 14.4:1 comp on race gas. But it's 3500 just to build not including parts.

Check out the B20vtec's Slowsleeper and Psiguy built. Both over 250 whp.
