Question about LS (DC4) seats
I heard something funny today and I am not sure if it is true or not.
A guy told me that the seats in my car were made by recaro. Not the exterior but just the frames were made by recaro and sent to acura for the padding and upholstery. I do know that the gs-r models came with recaro seats but not sure if what this guy said was for real or just bs.
and ive heard of car companies out-sourcing for wheels like Subaru using Koenig and Pontiac using Enkei but i have never heard of out-sourcing for just the seat frames.
Thanks for any and all info.

Honda has contracted Recaro for making a number of there seats, going back even to the 80's. It's been known a long time. Ls, gs, gs right and type r seats are all the same by the way, just different fabric used for each.
Honda has used Enkei for making many, not all, of their wheels for just as long

And to get to the bottom of the whole matter, I can re-wrap the seat frame if it is made by recaro which after other replies I am almost positive now that the frames were out sourced to recaro. They do have the same dimensions as the Type R seat. so it would only make sense that they made them otherwise it could be considered a patent infringement for honda to make a seat frame the same way.
Cool beans.
