Hello everyone, I currently have the option to purchase a 91 Acura integra for 1k. It includes a nice sound system setup and I highly enjoy the interior/exterior.

BUT!!! The transmission is pretty much crap. It grinds and makes it almost impossible to get into any gear. I test drove it and it runs, but just took a little while to figure out how to shift it. Grinding occured no matter what.

So good deal or not? Also got him to include a police scanner and he is going to clean and detail the inside (he works for a company that does that).

How much would it cost to fix it? He says the synchros need to be replaced but I am sure the entire thing needs to be rebuilt or replaced. I have little to no mechanical knowledge, especially when it comes to transmissions.

 

cheap ls trans run around 250-300ish how can anyone guess without pictures....for a mere 1000 i'd be avoiding it.
